BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY
Kim Malthe-Bruun was born in Fort Saskatchewan, Canada. His mother was from Denmark and in 1929 the family moved back to Europe.When still young he signed up with the merchant navy.

During the German occupation of Denmark, he joined the Danish resistance. But, in 1944, he was arrested by the Germans for being involved in the shipping of weapons from Sweden to Denmark.

He was tortured and then, in 1945, executed. After the war his mother, Vibeke, arranged for the publication of 'Kim' a biographical book which contains sections of her son's diary as well as a collection of his letters.
