Early Life and TrainingLudovico Carracci (1555-1619) was an Italian painter, engraver, and sculptor who emerged as a prominent figure in the Bolognese School.
Born in Bologna, he studied under Prospero Fontana, immersing himself in the art of Italian masters through extensive travels.
Founding the Accademia degli Incamminati
Upon his return to Bologna, Carracci established the Accademia degli Incamminati ("Academy of the Directed") alongside his cousins, Agostino and Annibale.
